Emily was totally humiliated. She just wanted to be alone.
All that was left, Rosco. And she wasn't even sure she could look him in the eye.
"How could you?" She was overwhelmed with tears.
"Me? What did I do? I didn't invite them here. Anyway, its not a big deal. I think they all know you're pretty crazy, anyway."
"But," she couldn't think what to say or even do. "I can't believe you'd let me down like this?"
"Let you down? I stood up to that Crystal bitch!" He shook her shoulders then, but she flinched away. She couldn't look at him. She could barely find any words to say to him.
"How about you get some sleep," Rosco said. "You'll feel better tomorrow."
"I'm never going to be better," Emily shook her head, no.
"Don't say that," Rosco almost touched her back, but he didn't. "You have to get this figured out. You need help. Promise me you'll let me take you in to the hospital in the morning. Please?"
She just nodded, and got in bed.
Rosco planted a chair by the door and sat down. No way was he letting Crystal get out of here tonight.
