i know we're under the same moon....
it lights me up for days...
but I need you now...
not having a baby all this celebration why....
it brings me down..
leave me to wither til I'm brand new - all smiles
Rosco looked around for Gordy. It all seemed to be a reunion of sorts. All they needed were Carrie and Derrick, he supposed. But why would they come?
Funny, how he thought about her now. Carrie was with Derrick. She hadn't moved in with him. She was still renting out the basement, but they were together. He'd seen around town. He'd even spotted them at the grocery store.
All these nice things happening. Rosco couldn't help but smile a little. Even Kal had someone. He spent a little while talking to Whitney. Rachel at least had someone to talk to. They'd hit it off which was kind of rare, Rosco thought, but it was nice.
But he kept thinking Gordy was here. He was. Jane was off with Emily. It was awkward to even ask her if she'd seen Gordy.
"No, no I haven't. Maybe he went outside for some fresh air." Emily shrugged it off as if they were just strangers in passing now.
Rosco gave her a nod and not much more. He could see she wanted nothing to do with him. She kept away from everyone, sticking to Casper when she could.
Rosco told Rachel he was going to go see about Gordy. He just didn't know that would mean getting in the car and tracking him down on the street.
"Do you want to get sick, again?" He pulled up in his little car next to Gordy who was half way back to the University now.
"I'm just fine." Gordy kept his hands in his pockets and kept walking with the wind sucking his hair around his face.
He could see Gordy was hesitating. Finally, he opened the car door. "I don't want to go back there," Gordy looked at Rosco coldly.
"Yeah, I know." Rosco wasn't going to make him. "I'll get you home."
Gordy nodded and got in.
"I think Bella will understand." Rosco thought if she had any sense she would, but Bella didn't always use her sense.
"I doubt it." Gordy hugged himself.
"Its a lot colder out than you'd think," Rosco drove on then.
"Yeah, I guess it is."
"So what's up with you and Emily?" Rosco thought he should ask.
"Nothing." Gordy looked blankly at him. "There will never be anything."
"Don't be sure of that."
"I am." Gordy remained even lipped and sad.
"All right." Rosco supposed he should believe him. "I'm sorry I was mad at you." He couldn't stay that way with his brother especially, when he'd been more of a brother of him than Kal had ever been. "I don't know what to do when I see you like this. I can't make anything better for you, but I know what I see. You deserve so much more than what you get, Gordy. If I could be like anybody, I'd want to be you. Except for the Emily thing, but man, she's warped. And just don't get mixed up with her. The best advise I can give you is to not get mixed up in her shit. Just don't let her bring you down."
"I'm not." Gordy squinted. "Its not about that. OK, maybe it is. I don't know. I feel really bad that I can't do anything for Serena. I just can't. She won't let me. I wish I could give her what she wants. And I don't know what that is."
"Maybe its just time away from you." Rosco told him as they got to Gordy's apartment.
"Yeah, I thought that would be the answer, but what do I do meanwhile?" Gordy sighed.
"You can always hang out with me in Rach." Rosco shrugged.
Gordy just nodded and got out. "Thanks for the ride," he then said.
