always something

Fish didn't think the interview went so well. It felt sort of like a beauty contest. Of course, he felt ridiculous saying it. But he really felt as if he was having to answer the right question about everything.

He went straight to bed afterwards and didn't want to talk about it. The whole process just about knocked the wind out of him. And he stayed in that state of mind for the rest of the week. And then.... the phone rang and Bella answered it, and so he got the info.

He got the job.

"I don't think anyone else wanted to move here." He said afterwards as if he got the job by default.

"Now stop talking like that." She sighed, and then they did the happy dance in the kitchen.

"You know what we should do," she then smiled.

"What? Look for a place of our own?" He wished she hadn't brought it up.

"No. A honeymoon." Bella looked at him.

"Just you and me?" He looked at her blankly.

"Yes, the two of us." She shrugged. "I'm not breast feeding. Anymore."

Fish looked at Gib who was sucking on his fist and rolling on his blanket in the livingroom.

"Yeah, but he'd miss you." Fish nodded, thinking it would be her missing Gib most likely. "I'm not working there yet, and I gotta do my job down at the grocery store until then."

"I want to go to Chicago." She then said.

"Chicago?" Fish winced. "Why Chicago?'

"Because I've never been." She shrugged.

"I dunno." He didn't want to drive nor even fly.

"We have to. We have to go somewhere." She grabbed him by the cheeks then and drew him in. When she planted that kiss on him, he knew she'd made up her mind.

Job interviews, ugh. I hate that stupid question "If your brother/sister stole something and you knew, would you tell?". It's so small minded.

I love the happy dance.
