either way

Gordy brought Rachel lunch. He knew she really didn't need it, but she'd been so blue, lately. He had fast food from Sonic. He knew how much she loved their mustard burgers and vanilla milk shakes.

"You didn't have too." She was in a huff still, but they were in the break-room alone and after three bites of her burgers she was happy.

He was beginning to think he needed to find her some new friends. There were a few couples in the apartment complex they'd tried to do things with, but most of them didn't have kids. Needless to say the wine and cheese party they went to was a no go. Rachel wasn't too fond of the girl who always wanted to sell her something when they came over to her place. Lately, everything seemed to going down the drain when it came to friends. When it came down to it, he was all she had. This meant ironing her hair, trimming her bangs, rubbing her feet after a long day.

"But I wanted to," he said as he nursed on a shake and ate at a burger too.

She talked about being invited to a party that someone on the staff was having. It was a jewelry party. "You'd have to watch the girls."

"That's OK, you go." He nodded.

"I don't really want to," she sighed.

"Then don't."

"But I should because, God, I just should." Rachel fretted.

"You don't have to if you don't want too."

Of course, Rachel didn't give him an answer, either way. Gordy just smiled. He really was getting used to this kind of thing.

Talk about being on the call of duty. That Gordy has his hands full.

I feel a bit sorry for Rachel really, she really needs a little nudge to just get out there. And good on Gordy for making sure she's taken care of.

Gordy better put a shopping trip to the mall on his list of things to do with Rachel.
