letting go

"Seriously, I don't know why she's like this." Charlotte loaded up on won ton soup and egg rolls while Parker crammed his plate full of broccoli beef.

"She's pregnant and moody." Parker shrugged as they set down to eat at a booth.

"Yes, I know, I will be nice to her. I will. I'm just not ready yet." Charlotte dug into her soup and started in on the noodles.

"I'm still not sure why you left Rosco." Parker then pointed out.

"I didn't break up with him." She sighed. "I told you already, it was his dream to be in a rock band and he'll be home the day after the 4th, all right."

"Yeah, but-" Parker didn't say another word he ate his food, but then he stopped after a few bites. "This wasn't his idea."

"It was. Really, he just didn't know it." Charlotte didn't know how to explain it, but she knew. "If I kept him from doing it, he would have blamed me. He would. This way he can see if he's cut out for this sort of business. Carrie will look after him."

"You're not afraid anything else might happen?" Parker looked at her as if she must be crazy.

"No, no I'm not afraid. If this breaks us, better now than somewhere down the road." She nodded. "Besides she really did need a descent base player."
