somewhere out there

Kal was no where around. She was told the men had gone somewhere and to be patience. Bella couldn't be patience. She wanted out of here. She wanted to go home. She wanted to tell Kal she wanted to go home.

But she couldn't. No one knew when he'd be back or if he'd be back. They really liked his music and if he practiced with them long enough he was going to be on the road with a few of the fellows.

Just like that. It was decided. She felt like his squaw waiting for him to get back from a buffalo hunt. Only they didn't believe in eating meat, and Bella was starving.

She went searching for a way to get out. Somewhere to the outside world.

They'd taken her cell phone. She wouldn't need it here. Little by little this was beginning to frighten her. What had she done to deserve this? She knew exactly what she'd done.

Why hadn't she stayed with Gordy? Everything would have been all right if she'd stayed with Gordy. None of this would have happened. But she wanted something better. Something more original than to spend the rest of her life with a wanna be rocker, who knew nothing about being one like Kal.

"Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. " She kept saying over and over til maybe she was delirious. She just had to get out of here. But everything was locked up. So she guessed she'd have to leave how she came in. She was going, with nothing. No shoes, no handbag, just this old fashioned dress that was no more than a white petticoat, it seemed.

There were daisies in her hair. Maybe anyone on the street would think she was going to a wedding or maybe she was the wedding. Of course, she thought of Gordy and how they didn't have their wedding. No, he'd been reeling when he found out she was sleeping with Kal the day before the wedding.

"THE WEDDING IS OFF!" His words still made her ears burn when she thought of that day. Then came all those other awful words starting with slut and of course, cunt. She didn't know he had it in him to speak so ill of her. He didn't even believe Jane was even his. And she hated him even more when he wanted DNA test to prove it. Thats when she decided she didn't want Jane. He could have her. She was all his, and he could just keep her.

But she didn't want this either. Alone. Scared. She had to get back home. She had too. So she waited. When the door open. She left.

She wondered the streets for awhile. Found a mall and wished she had money for shoes, but then she saw someone else without shoes, too. He seemed friendly enough there at the mall with his stringy hair. He wore a This is what a vegetarian looks like T-shirt. He looked more like a stoner to her than anything else.

"Wow," he said, all grins.

"Do you have a phone?" She asked.

"I think there's a pay phone around the corner, but they might have taken it out years ago. Nobody likes pay phones, anymore." He chuckled.

"I-I don't have any money." She hugged herself then.

"Damn." He shook his head, no. "That sucks."

"Yeah, I had my cell phone confiscated, and I just want to call my sister. Maybe just home." She didn't ask if he could help her with that. He walked away instead. She didn't know what that meant. He was the only friendly face she'd seen. Everyone else seemed to be in their own little world.

"Psst...." she heard. She peaked around the corner, there he was on the staircase, "Come on up. I'll see what I can do."

I got cheated on once. Sucked.

I forgave her right away though... Kindof. You can't really forgive someone until you're actually ready. But I tried my best to repress it.

Here I am. It's going to take me a while to catch up, but I will.
