The rules: List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your summer. Post these instructions in your blog along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they’re listening to. (everyone is doing it so I'm breaking the chain..sorry. it you want to post this on your blog, go for it.)
1. trust vs mistrust by the Spinto band
They have such a modest mouse feel. I just discovered them on imeem. I think they are from out north west america, somethere. Grungy and you just get one of their melodies in their head and it just carries you through the day.
2. penelope by saosin
Who knew this band could do something other than rock horror films. Its a classic. so acoustic. I heard it on Ellie's blog some time ago.
3. beautiful lie - yoav
Music to relax by. Its one guy, but he finds a base line with all his equipment and he just makes me feel good all over.
4. great dj- the ting tings
I love the Ting Tings but this really got under my skin. My band of summer. Its a duo who do so much on stage I can't believe they remember to sing. She's like this young vibrant Debra Harry.
5. playground hustle - the do
A playful song with little kids..but its so much more to it. Its got a passion and a rivalry in it too. Its catchy and whimsical.
6. wet dream - the hot toddies
A hilarious folksy tune. I love these gals. All their songs have a little story of what real girls put up with in their love lives.
7. leavin'- jesse mccartney
Its a comeback tune. He's still got it. Might be a different haircut, but he's not a boy anymore. He's a man, baby and he's got the notes to prove it. Really its a song that gets you up and going and smiling too. Cause, when I first heard it I was like, "is he saying he's "leaving..."..no he wants you leave the guy you're with...." now that takes balls.
anyone out there who wants to do it...do the survey. I'm pretty sure most of you in my circle of circles are doing this survey so I'm not going to bother with the tagging.
But some interesting new blogs I've found.
