between the lines

Gordy had to wonder what was bothering Rachel. It seemed she was going a mile a minute with everything. She'd brought over a casserole and was warming it in the oven. The girls were watching a Barbie video from the library.

"So you're OK?" He barely got a quick kiss out of her.

"I guess." This couldn't be about sex. He knew that. That seemed to be the easy part now.

"And?" He hated to wonder if this was all about something said. Maybe Rosco had got to her. He hated to leave it under the radar. The thing with Emily.

"I have this stupid Christmas dinner to go too at work." Rachel shrugged. "I don't know what to do."

"You know, I would go with you," Gordy smiled then putting his hands on her shoulders.

"I just thought maybe you'd rather just keep this under wraps for now, you know." She wrapped her arms around him.

"Yeah, if you want," she did have a point. Maybe they needed some time to get everything in some sort of order. But he didn't like having order. He just wanted it to be the best it could be in the chaos. He guessed. "Besides, you might decide-"

"Decide what?" She looked at him in the eye then as if he better not keep anything from her.

"Maybe we just need some time, alone. Just the two of us." Of course, it might be the weekend from hell if he told her anything. Then that would ruin Christmas for everyone. He should just keep his mouth shut. Honesty wasn't always what it was cracked up to be.

"Yeah, well, that's not gonna happen." Rachel went back to check on the cheesy mac in the oven.

"All right." Gordy would just tell her now.

"All right what?" She looked at him a tad confused as if they might not be having the same conversation. She'd been talking about Christmas shopping and the like, but was that what this was really about?

"I think Rosco-" she stared.

"You know I'm not perfect-" he began.

"What about Rosco?" Gordy winced.

"I think he wants us to get back together." She crossed her arms.

"Did you tell him about us?" Gordy wondered.

"No, I just told him no." She nursed her bottom lip then.

"All right,"

"So what were you going to tell me?" Rachel waited then as if this were a game, and she might should guess.

"I don't want to make you mad. I don't. I really think you should know, but it might upset you and you might have second thoughts about Rosco." It stung deep inside him to confide this, but he had too. "Just remember it was a strange time and I was a little out of it. It shouldn't have happened."

"Shut up and just tell me!" She gave him a look to get to the point.

"I had sex with Emily when I found out about Serena losing the baby. I mean, I'd really intended to marry Serena. I was and well, it was just crazy." Gordy squinted hard thinking he couldn't even stand to listen to himself.

Rachel sighed then and just went to the bathroom and locked the door behind her.

A Barbie video from the library cute. A lot of your characters seem to be working at libraries, don't they? ;)
Chaos sometimes is better than order, Gordy has a point there.
What will Rachel do now? But I still don't think it doesn't have anything to do with her, except for that she hates Emily. But she didn't even know Gordy back then. Emily is theoretically just a person Gordy had sex with before they got together. I hope she won't get too upset. That she reacted so quietly bothers me.

About Bella: Yeah, what I intended to say in the last comment was also that she may not love Gordy anymore, but the idea of how Gordy loved her.
About Bex: I wonder if her girlfriends will appear in the story again...
That's sad about what you told me, you being with a guy who everyone thought was great and after finally meeting the one you really wanted to be with there was some falling out... Sorry for asking, but was the falling out with your friends or with the guy?
I used to be very moody too, but I also hope I'm not anymore.

yeah thats cool with the whole "fish" thing. lately i've realized that it doesn't matter if your gay or not everyone should be able to be with the person they want to be with
