Rosco was pretty much a happy camper at the Whitfield. The doors were locked, but they were on stage with plenty to choose from to play. It made him a little dizzy, and he couldn't stop smiling.
He did his best to keep cool. Naturally, Carrie was laughing at him and looked thinner than from before.
"You are such a kid," she smiled more. "How you been?"
"Good." He just nodded trying out the red steel guitar. "I hear you been gone or something."
"Yeah, we did some benefit stuff. Helped with this rebuilding a school. Its made me appreciate more stuff, you know." She held out her hand then. There was a gold wedding band on her finger.
"Wow, Derrick?" Rosco couldn't help but smile. "What the hell were you thinking?"
"Crazy, isn't it?"
"Maybe not that crazy," Rosco sighed.
"You're not still with Emily, are you?"
Rosco shook his head, no.
"Are you sure?" Carrie gave him a slight wink.
"Yeah, I'm seeing someone," he shrugged.
"She nice?"
"Yeah," he slipped a smile then. "We're happy." He looked up and saw Derrick talking to Kal and Fish.
"Derrick, didn't even know Kal worked for him," Carrie then smiled. "He wondered what happened to him."
"Really?"
"Yeah, you know if your brother had stuck around here and hadn't gone off like he did, I know he'd have a CD with them by now or at least in one of the record company's bands." She shrugged.
"Huh?" Rosco couldn't help smiling. It was just what he'd been waiting to hear.

I wouldn't know if I would take 'You are such a kid' as a compliment or as an insult. Sometimes people accuse you of being 'childish', and that's not very flattering. Sometimes, when you do something for people, they say 'You're such a darling' and wave you away, which is more insulting than a sincere 'thank you'.
