a funny thing happened

"All right, I just haven't been myself, lately." Rachel had a confession to make. She wasn't so sure Gordy was listening because he kept going about on how Bella was treating Gib and what Jane had been telling everyone.

"I don't know what to do with her," he kept going. He would not listen to a thing she said. "Do you think she might need to see a child psychologist?"

"Of course not." Rachel just said. "Jane is just fine. She is." The dishes were done and finally put away. The girls were already in bed. They were getting ready for bed slowly.

"She's just been so mean, lately." Gordy made a frown. "Maybe its just me, you know."

"Its not you. She's just being a kid, OK." Rachel sighed. Thinking this was not a good time to tell him. It really wasn't. But then would there ever be a good time to tell him.

"But what if its all my fault?" He shrugged. "She couldn't learn because I didn't give her enough attention."

"What? Give her enough attention? You give her a lot of attention." She looked at him.

"A little of me thinks....maybe...she's turning in to you." Gordy looked at Rachel.

"Well, thanks a lot." He didn't mean it as a compliment, either. "Sorry, if you feel she spends too much time with me." She scowled a bit turning from him then with her arms crossed. She hadn't expected this. What was he getting to?

"I'm just saying, she speaks her mind, about everything."

"Well, she should." What was wrong with that? "Are you saying, kids should be seen and not heard?"

"No." He touched her shoulder then and wrapped his arms around her from behind. "I didn't mean to make you mad."

"All right. I get it." She bit her bottom lip then. "We're going to have a baby."

Gordy didn't say anything. He was quiet for a moment.

"You're sure Jane didn't have anything to do with this?" Gordy just sighed.

"No, I'm afraid it was all you." She nodded.

"Sure, blame it on me," he sighed.

She smiled then. Rachel couldn't help but laugh.

Kids are great, another baby, yea!
I'm typing this while my 2 yr old grand daughter is watching herself Poo in the mirror.
It's raining and chilly today, spring weather, so that's o.k.

She's probably just frustrated to be honest. I think babies are more perceptive than we realise.

OMG, no child psychologist, please. A four-year-old kid I know was sent to one by his parents, and it's totally unnecessary. It's his mother who should see a psychologist. I think it's completely normal for kids her age to be speaking their minds about everything. Kids are not born with tact.
Oh... A baby. I had to laugh when Rachel said that Jane didn't have anything to do with it, that it was all Gordy. Because yeah, biologically too it was all Gordy!
