in the bedroom

Whitney helped Serena with the new sheets on Floyd's bed. They were blue pin striped and a bit manly.

"You should have gotten what you wanted," Whitney told Serena. "After all, you are sleeping here." It was a queen sized bed. Whitney would love to have a queen sized bed. She had to admit sometimes, she wanted to sleep alone. Their bed was rather tiny.

"Does Floyd look like the type who could sleep in a bed of flowers," Serena smiled and Whitney just laughed. He was a bit rough around the edges. Desperately, in need of a haircut, but someone might think he was still in high school if he cut that strawberry blond mop of his. A haircut just might take ten years off him.

"I suppose you're right." Whitney still couldn't help but smile at the thought. "So you think you'll get used to sleeping with him every night?"

"Yeah, why not?"

"I dunno." She shrugged. "Sometimes, you know, you wish you could have the bed all to yourself."

"What do you mean?" Serena winced.

"Well, Kal laughs in his sleep, for starters. He gets a little wild. Actually. Maybe he's dreaming about being in some sort of rock concert, for all I know." Whitney wasn't sure she should be telling all this Serena. Whitney was at least leaving out their sex life.

"So what are you saying? You don't like sleeping with Kal?" Serena just stared at her as if this was serious.

"No, no not at all. Its just, you know, its not perfect." Whitney shrugged.

"Has you mom called since the wedding?" Serena wanted to know.

"Oh," Whitney didn't know how to explain. "No, no she hasn't. Its really my sister's fault. She's made it so complicated. I don't know if there's a way to fix it. At least not at the moment. She went back to my Mum's anyway. She's left her husband. Somehow, I'm the one who's abandoned them. And I've been so busy with everything, I try not to think about it."

"I wish you would have told me," Serena gave Whitney a hug then. "You can tell me anything, you know."

"Its OK, really everything is fine." Whitney promised.

"Well, we have to do more things together, you know," Serena then said. "The four of us. We'll have cookouts soon. And we'll go camping."

"I've never gone camping," Whitney shrugged.

"Really? Its so fun." Serena smiled. "I'm old pro, you know."

"I bet, rough'n it completely, I guess." Whitney could only imagine.

"What, you don't think Floyd could do it, do you?" Serena blinked.

"No, not really, doesn't he get lost at the mall, easily?" Whitney had to bite her bottom lip to keep from laughing.

I'm so glad Serena and Whitney are getting along so well :)
And I'm sure Whitney will get used to sleeping with Kal, haha ^^

The camping trip sounds so fun! Can't wait to read about it.

How was your week, Cait?

Blue pin striped bed sheets are classic.
Wow, a queen sized bed... That's wonderful. You know, I really can't imagine sleeping in one bed with another person. I don't know, I don't think I'm the kind of person who turns around during the night and suddenly occupies the whole bed, but MY BROTHER IS! And when I still had to sleep with him in one room/bed it was horrible. I hope my husband won't be like my brother.
Floyd seems cute... Sometimes a haircut will age you, sometimes it will make you look younger.
Whitney and Serena get along so well, I love it! I've been camping a few times, I bet Whitney and Kal would like it! And after sleeping with Kal in a tiny tent, Whitney will be grateful when they have a little more space in their tiny bed, haha.

It is the little things that can really effect the relationship. Getting a good nights sleep can be essential.

Cate's right about the small tent making her appreciate the bed, that is so smart!
I camped with cute hubby on our honeymoon in Martha's Vineyard, and hated it. I was so glad when it rained and we had to stay in a hotel.
