Bella swore it was nothing, but they'd monitored her through the day. Just as a precaution.
She finally managed to get through to Fish at the guitar store.
"I promise I'll get a phone by tomorrow," he told her.
"And you'll call me?" Bella felt she could sleep now if she knew this for sure.
"I miss you," She could barely keep her eyes open, but she wanted to hear his voice. "Just say something."
"I miss you too, babe."
"Really? You probably forgot what I look like," Bella said.
"I don't think so."
"God, can you come soon!" She had a contraction about that time too and was in a bit of pain.
"Are you sure that's not the real thing?"
"They say its not. I don't know what it, but it makes me think of you," she said dreamily.
"If you say so."
"I don't think you believe me."
"I know you love me," Fish said.
"I'd love you more if you were here," Bella closed her eyes then.
"OK, I'm gonna come up there. Soon as I get my phone. I'll come up there, all right."
"Don't you lie to me," Bella was wide awake now, looking about at all the monitors going on like a well oiled machine.
"I would never lie to you," Fish promised.
