Bella was amazed and actually shocked - they got this done on such short notice. Of course, the pastor did think Fish was the father of her baby. It was just a little white lie. Otherwise, he would have probably made them go through a six week course on Do you know the facts of marriage.

So she didn't have a wedding dress. Her babydoll smock was white and she wore pink pants. Maybe she wasn't suppose to be in a wedding dress, anyway. At least she hadn't had her family spend a small fortune on one that she never actually used.

As it was, she didn't see her Mom making a fuss. She guessed it would have been nice to have her father here, but he wasn't around. Another business trip of some kind. She wondered if he missed her mother at all. She sort of hoped not because she thought her Mom deserved someone who did think about her. A lot.

She knew Fish would never take her for granted. She'd never take him for granted. Actually, she just couldn't wait to get in a motel room alone with him.

"Are you sure you aren't ready to go to the hospital now?" Her mother asked once the ceremony was over.

"Of course not," Bella looked at her as if she were crazy. "I want to go on my honeymoon." Of course, it sounded so strange saying that word. People didn't use that much in their vocabulary. True, they really weren't going anywhere but the edge of town out on the interstate, but still it was a honeymoon as far as she was concerned.

Things were going to be different now, or maybe they were going to go back from before when it was just Fish and her. She couldn't explain it. But it didn't feel like a done deal until he said he "will".

And now she just had to work on him to stay here instead of going back to Texas.
