just listen

It really didn't feel like Christmas to Bella who felt a bit drained, especially with the Emily matter.

She'd tried to console her mother for the most part, but really she wasn't very good. Possibly, she was too much like her mother. She could tell her mother wanted to blame all this on anyone but herself.

"Well, I don't know what she's expecting from me now." Her mother was angry. "She's always been an ungrateful little brat for the most part." She was in a tizzy wondering what to do with Emily on her own.

"Mom." Bella was furious with her reaction.

"She's runaway. Next thing we'll hear on the news she's part of some human trafficing somewhere in Denver."

"MOM!" Bella looked at her. "Can't you see why she does the things she does?"

"I think she made it all up. In her head," her mother was in denial. All she could do was clean a kitchen that was already clean.

"She's had secrets, Mom. She's kept things in for a long time about this guy thats like ten or so years older than her. Maybe thats why the personality changes. The cutting. And she doesn't need you making her feel worse." Bella looked at her Mom then, thinking she should be on the phone with the police. Something. But she wasn't.

"I just give up. I tried. But she lied to her counselor. Aren't there suppose to be tests where they figure this out?" Her mother winced.

"I think she's going to be OK." Bella had to have faith. "She's been so much better, lately. Especially, with Casper around. I think he's listened. And thats all she's been wanting. Maybe this is just the closure part, Mom. She has to find this guy, and confront him." Bella hugged herself then. She just wished she was with her sister right now so she wouldn't have to do it alone.

Ahh sweetie, I'd love to share it with you too. Thankyou for the wonderfully interesting comment you made me last time. The Native American sounds sublime. I was drunk with a 26 yeah old drug dispenser. Not quite as romantic, though he did kiss me on the fore head before I went to sleep. As a friend of course.

All love to you on this wonderful holiday!

Hey, Bella is really nice in this chapter! I wonder if Emily finds that guy. It IS a bit of a wild goose chase, after all.
