seriously

Rachel told Charlotte that she could give her a lift somewhere from the library. Naturally, Charlotte liked the idea.

"Just drop me off at Rosco's," she got in.

"That's where you're staying now?" Rachel wasn't so shocked. "I mean, you stay at a lot of people's houses, I just-"

"You don't have a problem with that, do you?" Charlotte looked puzzled.

"No."

"Good." Charlotte gave her a quick smile. "It'll be just til school's out. Then I'll be out of everyone's hair."

"You're still sure the military is the answer?" Rachel drove around the parking lot and took a turn toward Rosco's.

"Well-" Charlotte shrugged.

"I worry about you." Rachel told her.

"You shouldn't." Charlotte shook her head.

"I know you're a big girl and all, but you're all alone. And I'm not even sure how you feel about Rosco." Rachel drove toward his neighborhood then.

"I know you love him like a little brother," Charlotte smirked. "I'm not gonna hurt him. I just don't want to get attached, you know."

"I know, but he gets attached real easily. You might want to think about this," Rachel warned as she drove into the driveway.

"Thanks." Charlotte got out then. Rachel doubted Charlotte took anything she said, seriously.
