open bar

It was hardly noon and Dan showed up on Kat's door.

"What are you doing here?" Kat hadn't expected it. Really, she didn't think he was that chummy with her that evening when she went out with Parker to meet them even if Parker begged to differ.

"I thought I'd drop in. See this lovely home of yours." He shrugged a little too sweetly for Kat.

"Oh." She knew he'd hate it.

"God, you did this!" Dan looked around at her so-so home mainly depicting framed moments of her girls and Jane and now Gib dotted the walls.

"Whats the matter?" Kat didn't want to be judged on what she'd done to her place.

"How quaint." His arms extended as he looked about, in thought.

"Is it?"

"Do you have anything to drink?" He sighed.

"Iced tea." She followed him to her kitchen as if he might own a part of it now, since he'd stepped into it.

"No, that will not do." He shook his head.

"Lemonade?" She looked at him point blank.

"Only if you have vodka." He sighed. "God, do I need a drink." He sounded as if he were about to fall apart.

"What happened?" Kat winced.

"Jace broke up with me." He blurted.

Kat got the vodka and ice right away. He put in just a splash of lemonade and drank it up then wanted another.

"It could very well happen to you," Dan sniffed. "Jace found someone younger and better than me."

Kat cleared her throat. She had nothing to say to that. Really, he could take all the vodka he wanted. If only she could get him to leave.

Kat's in a fix. I don't know what I'd do...in such a case.

HAHAHA, I adore gay men and their drama queen ways.

I couldn't believe what you told me about the "brother" incident. Poor girl. Is he gone yet?
