Kat thought for sure she couldn't get mono. Wasn't it one of those viruses that once it got in your system it never left. It just stayed dormant. She was thinking this through while laying in bed in the early morning.
She was so tired. She was coming down with something.
"You do look pretty rotten," Parker told her as he was getting ready for work.
"Shouldn't you be sick too?" She checked his forehead to see if he had a fever when he came over to give her a good look, but he was just fine. He put his hand on her forehead just to aggravate her.
"I'm going to call the school and tell them you're sick," he said. "Make a doctor's appointment."
"Do I have to?" She squinted hard then. All she wanted to do was sleep.
"Yes." He kissed her forehead then and went downstairs.
She closed her eyes and the next thing she knew he came back with some juice and toast.
"I called to make you an appointment. You can get in, in an hour." He told her.
"Why did you do that?" She didn't want to get out of bed.
"If something is going around, you should get checked out. You're around kids all the time." He told her.
"I'll be fine."
"Of course, you will, you have a doctor's appointment, so get ready." Parker coaxed.
"All right." She took a bite of butter toast then. She couldn't remember the last time she'd had toast this good. She stuffed the other piece in her mouth too. Then by the time she got to the bathroom she thought she might throw up at the stench of Scope mouth wash in the air.
She looked at herself in the mirror. This was like a deja vu. But a deja vu of what?

Haha, I'm laughing at what Parker did. I've always wanted to do the return forehead thing.
I think it's great that he appealed to Kat's maternal instincts to get her to agree. Smart fella.
I bet Kat hasn't felt this rotten since the last time she had morning sickness. Has she had menopause yet? hmmmmm.
Oh..boy, now that would be a surprise right there.
